About Us
Spay Neuter Express is a low-cost high-quality veterinary clinic. We specialize in spay/neuter of cats and dogs as well as routine care. In addition to Spay and Neuter services, we provide vaccines, microchipping, and routine testing. Our goal is to help your pets stay healthy and make it affordable for you to have quality care. No matter what size, age, or breed, our professionals are well-trained to provide superior care.
In addition to working with the public, we also serve rescues around Michigan. We currently have partnerships with Animal Rescue Project in Kalamazoo, Safe Haven Animal Rescue in Ionia, and Wishbone Pet Rescue serving Allegan County. We have worked with Dalis to the Rescue, Tail Waggers, and Animal aid along with other countless rescues. We have helped many in the communities we serve with the spaying and neutering of feral, stray, and barn cats.
How to prepare for surgery:
1. We ask that animals scheduled for surgery arrive NO LATER THAN 9AM to ensure our Doctor, staff, and most importantly your pets have the time they need to complete surgery and recover.
2. Animals having surgery should refrain from any food after midnight the night before their surgery. They can have water. Any animals under the age of 4 months should have a small meal of canned food the morning of their surgery.
3. Surgery check-in is between 8AM-9AM You will be given a discharge time at check-in for surgery. Pick up times vary, but typically will be early afternoon the same day.
4. If your animal is scheduled for surgery and you would like them to have vaccinations and/or test please arrive with any prior records you may have and notify our staff at check-in.

More important info:
1. We ask that animals receiving vaccinations and/or routine testing arrive anytime between 9AM-10AM, please arrive with any prior vaccination records you may have for that pet. Vaccines/testing appointments should take about 15-20 Minutes, you will not be dropping your animal off.
2. Cats need to arrive in separate secured carriers. We recommend adding a small towel (ex: old dish/kitchen towel or small t-shirt)
3. Dogs need to arrive on leashes. Please allow your dog to exercise and use the bathroom prior to check in.

1 - Does my pet have a fever?
A normal temperature for cats and dogs is 101.5 °F. Fever is typically present at 102.5 °F. As with humans, however, "normal" temperatures can differ from pet to pet.
2 - What are some signs that my pet is in pain or feeling ill?
Unusual behaviors such as hiding, biting, crying, lethargy and not eating could be indications that something may not be right with your pet's health. It's best to make an appointment for a wellness visit as soon as possible.
3 - Can I feed my dog human food?
Perhaps. Some foods that humans eat are very healthy for dogs, however other examples (such as grapes, onions and chocolate) can be poisonous. To be safe, it's best to stick with foods that are made and sold specifically as pet food.
4 - How often should I schedule a wellness exam?
It's best that your pet receives a physical wellness examination at least once a year to identify any potential problems your pet may be developing. Please contact us if you would like to make an appointment.
